警察庁長官銃撃事件が時効＝実行役特定できず?「被疑者不詳」書類送検へ?警視庁
1995年3月、国松孝次警察庁長官（当時）が自宅マンションで銃撃され、重傷を負った事件は30日午前0時、殺人未遂罪の公訴時効（15年）が成立した。警視庁は「被疑者不詳」で書類送検し、東京地検は証拠物を精査した上で、不起訴処分にする。
警察組織のトップを狙った前例のないテロをめぐり、同庁南千住署捜査本部は延べ約48万人を投入。オウム真理教の組織的犯行とみて容疑者逮捕に全力を挙げたが、実行役を特定できず、真相は闇に包まれたままだ。
国松長官は95年3月30日午前8時半ごろ、東京都荒川区南千住のマンション前で、背中や腹部など3カ所を撃たれ、重傷を負った。
捜査関係者によると、96年5月、教団信者だった元同庁巡査長（44）が「自分が撃った」「拳銃は神田川に捨てた」と述べ、事件関与を認めた。
しかし、元巡査長の供述はほとんど裏付けが取れず、神田川で拳銃は見つからなかった。元教団幹部数人が現場にいたとも話したが、いずれも関与を否定した。
捜査本部は2004年7月、事件関与の疑いが強いとして、殺人未遂容疑などで元巡査長ら4人を逮捕したが、供述は変遷し、不起訴となった。
その後の捜査で、元巡査長のコートや眼鏡、マスクなど複数の所持品に火薬成分が付着していることが判明。捜査本部は元教団幹部らの事情聴取を続けたが、銃撃を直接的に示す証拠はなく、状況は打開できなかった。

PC Engine
PC Engineとは、1987年にNECホームエレクトロニクスが発売した家庭用ゲーム機。任天堂の「ファミリーコンピューター」が圧倒的なシェアを誇っていた時期に、グラフィックやサウンドがより高性能な次世代の家庭用ゲーム機として発表された。 PC Engineのゲームソフトは当初は「HuCARD」というICカード型のROMカートリッジで供給されていたが、後にPC Engine用の外付けCD-ROMドライブが発売された。この「CD-ROM2」(シーディーロムロムと読む)システムは世界初のCD-ROMを用いた家庭用ゲームシステムで、その構想の多くは先見性が高いものが多く、光ディスクの大容量データを活かしたゲーム、セーブデータの携帯、3人以上の複数人での同時プレイ、「リビングにPC相当のものを」という構想など、現在のプレイステーションなどの仕様?構想に近いものがある。 PC Engineは同時期に発売されたゲーム機の中ではサードパーティも比較的多く、「スーパーCD-ROM2」システムに至るまで多くのソフトが提供されたが、任天堂の新世代機「スーパーファミコン」の圧倒的なシェアを奪うことはできずに終わった。NECホームエレクトロニクスはその後も「PC-FX」など後継機を発売するも、激しいシェア獲得競争に敗れゲーム市場から撤退、会社自体も親会社のNECに吸収され消滅した。奇しくも、任天堂の新世代ゲーム機「Wii」の「バーチャルコンソール」機能の一部としてPC Engine用ソフトの提供が決定している。
